News from Around the Regions

Friends,

Your NCC GOP team has been busy this summer, reaching out in the community, building our ranks at the grass-roots level, making our case on radio, tv and in print and putting winning plans into place for success in 2010.  Read on for a glimpse of activities from around the county.

regards,
Michael Fleming and Joe Oddo

Wilmington Republicans' next big event is their annual barbeque at Rockford Park - always a fun evening.  The BBQ kicks off at 6pm by the Rockford Tower.  The Region is just wrapping up an extraordinarily successful Food Drive that resulted in over a half ton of food and just shy of 100 donations.  Thanks to Rick Carroll and his team for this impressive community outreach benefiting the Food Bank of Delaware.

The Brandywine Region welcomes Anita Sterling as new Recording Secretary. Anita stepped up to fill a vacancy and is now a member of the Executive Committee.

Brandywine's new Headquarters at the Branmar Plaza III Shopping center is taking shape with an expansion of the general meeting area and the installation of new carpet. Thanks again to Ernie Camairano for all his help. Special kudos to Frances West for volunteering to be  interim HQ Manager.

Brandywine has also formed a Fund raising Committee chaired by Tim Lengkeek with members Ray Buchta and Mike DiFonzo. Their goal is to sponsor a major Fundraiser in October. Stay tuned for more details.

Over 30 Colonial Region Republicans gathered at Bogey's on Monday, June 29th for the June Colonial Region business meeting with special guest Sen. Colin Bonini.   Sen. Bonini gave his "Delaware's Bad Habit" presentation and took numerous questions from those in attendance.  Chairman Mike Stafford reports that the talk on our state's excessive spending was illuminating and informative.  Thank you Sen. Bonini!
