New Castle County Republican Committee Elects New Leadership
Incoming Chairman Fleming, Vice Chairman Oddo and new officers promise fresh start
WILMINGTON -- The New Castle County Republican Executive Committee today unanimously elected a new slate of officers including Michael Fleming as chairman and Joseph Oddo as vice-chair.
Born and raised in New Castle County, Fleming is a business executive with extensive experience in strategic planning, communications and political campaigns. He was a candidate for the 4th Senatorial District in 2008 and earlier in his career was a senior aide to US Senator Bill Roth. He is a board member and volunteer with multiple charitable and civic organizations.
Oddo is a business consultant with experience leading business development, operations, systems and business planning for multiple Fortune 500 companies. He has served on the Boards of numerous corporate and not-for-profit organizations.
“One-party rule has led New Castle County government to an unprecedented multi-million dollar deficit, and the specter of a massive 25% property tax increase,” said Tom Ross, State Republican Committee Chairman. “This new leadership team led by Michael and Joe is going to re-energize our county organization, and help give voters a clear choice in the 2010 elections.”
“Michael’s background and experience makes him the ideal person to lead our county party at this critical time,” said US Representative Michael Castle. “I’ve known and worked closely with Michael throughout his career and he understands exactly what it will take – and has the energy and vision necessary – to bring our message to the voters and help us win in New Castle County.”
